going to eco fest and chilling out with friends, making new ones, moonshine, painting faces, not having my phone on all weekend, no internet, live music, fresh air and sitting round a fire was what I needed. I have been given a new mindset. A fresher, clearer, more positive mindset. And I feel good. I will be working Small World fest too in August and I can’t wait. Meeting new people has automatically got me out of my rut and made me realize that there is so much more out there for me. This time I mean it and it can only get better now.

i need to stop fluctuating in motivation. im too fucking indecisive and lazy. one day im completely sweating ambiton then the next im not and more than happy to sit in my own empty body and make do with precious seconds flying past. why cant i just DO SOMETHING. things set me off, loud GOOD music, interviews, daydreams, quotations, seeing people settling for staying in their desk jobs and getting a mortgage and getting married and having kids and deciding which colour toaster to fucking buy with their argos store card. And women more than happy to carry their boyfriends or fuck-piece’s amp into a gig so the men can get off being all macho playing their fucking metal to the 11 adoring female fans who have no guts or imagination to make the men carry THEIR AMPS. I cant just stand by and do this.

POLY-STYRENE of band X-RAY SPEX, A FEMALE PUNK LEGEND.

I remember seeing her at Love Music Hate Racism in Victoria Park, doing her best known song, ‘Oh Bondage Up Yours’. It was truly amazing to see someone, especially a woman, from the punk era, still going with the same passion and attitude as back in the 70’s. Not so well known at Siouxie but nonetheless just as fucking cool. I will treasure this memory and her music fondly as the current music scene is slowly dying of death. She will be remembered as a woman who managed to break into the male dominated punk scene and personally an inspiration to me.

I don’t like the whole ‘RIP’ thing so all I’ll say is…
